Description
Why should you use candle dust covers?
Wax collects anything in the air. A jar can sit in a warehouse, then a stockroom, then on a shelf for weeks, picking up dust, lint and fingerprints from whoever last opened the lid for a sniff. That grey film is the first thing a buyer sees at home.
A disc of board solves it for pennies, and slows the air across the wax so the scent is still working when the candle is unwrapped, not months earlier in your stockroom.
It also buys a second first impression. The lid comes off and instead of bare wax there is your name, the scent, and a line you chose.
Candle dust covers made just for your brand
Print your logo, the scent name, burn instructions, a batch number or a thank you. Some clients run a message per scent. Others keep one design and change only the fragrance name, which is cheaper and works fine.
Sizing matters more than people expect. Cut the disc 1 to 2mm under the jar’s inner diameter and it drops in flat and stays put. Cut it to the exact bore and it buckles. Cut it small and it slides and gathers wax underneath. An 8 oz straight-sided jar is usually 68 to 70mm inside, a 16 oz nearer 89mm, but glass varies by supplier, so send a jar or a caliper reading.
Quality that meets your standards
Covers run on 12pt to 16pt board, about 250 to 350 gsm. Light enough to cut cleanly, heavy enough not to curl against a warm jar.
One thing to know before choosing a finish. The underside touches wax, and scented wax pulls at inks and coatings over months in storage. Keep foil, varnish and lamination on the visible side and leave the wax side clean. An uncoated top also takes a rubber stamp, which small makers tend to want.
One more print note: think twice before putting your ASTM F2058 safety warning only on the dust cover. It sits under the lid, so nobody reads it until the candle is home and paid for. Burn instructions there are fine. The warning belongs where a buyer sees it before buying, usually the base label.
Wholesale candle dust cover packaging
Dust covers are cheap and ordered in volume, so consistency is the whole game. Colour is managed across runs, so your fifth reorder matches your first.
Our wholesale service includes:
- Price matching on bulk quantities, same specification
- Quick turnaround on large runs
- Customization for branding and safety copy
Low-MOQ ordering starts at 100 units, for the maker testing a scent rather than the brand shipping pallets. Most who start at 100 come back for thousands.
Competitive candle packaging
Nobody buys a candle because of the dust cover. They do notice the difference between clean wax with a printed disc and a dusty surface with nothing, even if they never work out what they noticed. It reads as care, and care is most of what a premium candle sells.
It is also the cheapest upgrade available. A better box costs real money per unit; a dust cover costs a fraction of that.

FAQs
What is the minimum order for candle dust covers? Low MOQ ordering starts at 100 units, so you can trial a design on one scent before committing.
What size should a dust cover be? Cut 1 to 2mm under the jar’s inner diameter. An 8 oz straight-sided jar sits near 68 to 70mm, a 16 oz nearer 89mm. Measure your own glass.
Does a dust cover really help scent? It slows airflow across the wax, which helps a candle hold its throw in storage. It is not a seal and does not replace a lid.
Can I print the safety warning on it? Burn instructions, yes. Keep the ASTM F2058 warning where a buyer sees it before purchase, normally the base label.
Which finishes work on dust covers? Anything on the top side: matte, gloss, foil, spot UV. Leave the wax side uncoated, since scented wax attacks inks over time.
