Why choose candle boxes with windows?
Ask a shop owner what happens to candle boxes without a window. Customers open them. They lift the lid, have a sniff, put it back crooked, and the third person to pick up that box quietly chooses another. Your stock is being worn out by browsing.
A window stops most of that, and it earns its keep online, where the pack sells twice: once in the listing photograph, then again on someone’s kitchen table.
Premium materials for long-lasting quality
Durable and protective
Most retail candle boxes sit on 18pt to 24pt SBS. Heavier jars, or anything going straight to a courier, want E flute corrugated. Rigid greyboard at 1.5mm to 2mm is the gift shop end. The rule behind it is dull but reliable: spec the board against what the box weighs full, not empty. An 8 oz jar candle is close to a pound with the glass.
Behind the aperture goes PET film, usually 200 to 300 micron. It stays clear, resists shelf scuffing and keeps dust off the wax.
Window size is where briefs get ambitious, and the one thing we will argue about. The board around an aperture holds the box square, and 10 to 15mm is about the least you can leave before the panel flexes. A racked box has saved nobody anything.
One more thing, your product rather than our box: keep windowed candles out of direct sun on the shop floor. Glass plus sunlight softens wax and frosts the surface.
Eco-friendly options
Recycled kraft, FSC board, PCR content, soy inks: all available.
The window needs honesty. PET has to be peeled out before the board goes in the paper stream, and almost nobody does. If recyclability is the point rather than a line on the pack, ask for a paper based window such as glassine, or leave the aperture open and let the jar protect the wax.
Customization options
Unique window shapes
Square, round, arched, full height, or die-cut to your logo or a flame. Shape follows the product more than the brand: tall and narrow for pillars, wide for jars, a lid aperture for tins and multi-candle sets.
Printing and branding
Full CMYK, Pantone matched where a brand colour has to be exact, white ink on kraft. Then whichever finish fits: lamination, soft touch, spot UV, foil, emboss or deboss.
Print the inside of the lid too. It costs very little and is the first thing anyone sees. Run eight scents and digital keeps each off its own plate, so the eighth box costs roughly what the first did.
Luxury touches
Rigid window boxes take magnetic closures, drawer pulls, ribbon handles and lined trays. That is the version that leaves a shop as a gift without wrapping.

FAQs
What is the minimum order? Low MOQ ordering starts at 100 units, so a small studio can print proper window boxes without a warehouse full of them.
Are windowed candle boxes recyclable? The board is, in most US programs. The PET has to come out first and often does not, which is the argument for a paper window.
How large can the window be? Leave 10 to 15mm of board around it. Past that the panel flexes and boxes arrive out of square.
Which film do you use? PET at 200 to 300 micron as standard, RPET for recycled content, paper based film if the whole pack has to recycle.
