Description
Custom sunglass packaging for protection and brand image
Sizing starts from the folded frame. Most sunglasses fold to roughly 150 to 160mm wide, 50 to 60mm tall and 40 to 50mm deep, so an outer box usually sits around 6.5 by 2.75 by 2 inches. Oversized, wraparound and sport frames run larger, and a box that also holds a hard case needs extra depth. Send a frame or its folded dimensions and we build the dieline to it.
The lens is the part that matters most. A scratched lens is a return, so the insert should hold the frame by the bridge and temples and never press on the lens surface. A microfibre pouch inside the box protects the lens and doubles as a cleaning cloth, which customers keep and use.
Why sunglass packaging matters
The box is the customer’s first real contact with your brand, and eyewear is bought on perceived quality. Good packaging prevents scratches, signals value before the case is opened, and makes a repeat purchase more likely.
It also carries information shoppers look for. Panels are laid out for UV protection (UV400 is the common claim), polarisation, lens category, frame material and care instructions. In the US, nonprescription sunglasses are FDA-regulated and are generally tested against ANSI Z80.3. For the EU, sunglasses carry a filter category from 0 to 4 under EN ISO 12312-1 and CE marking. We print what you supply, and confirming that performance claims and testing are accurate is the brand’s responsibility.
Customization and features
Tailored designs
Choose from pillow boxes for lighter retail packs, rigid two-piece boxes, magnetic closure boxes, drawer or slide boxes, window boxes that show the frame, and wooden boxes for premium lines. Hanging cartons with a euro slot suit spinner and peg displays in retail.
Durable materials
Rigid boxes use 1.5mm to 2mm greyboard wrapped in printed paper, textured stock or faux leather. Retail cartons use SBS paperboard at 18pt to 24pt. Kraft, recycled board and bamboo are available for brands that lead with sustainability.
Protective inserts
EVA foam, velvet-flocked foam or die-cut paperboard inserts hold the frame still and keep lenses off every surface. Inserts can include a cavity for a hard case, a pouch pocket and a slot for a warranty or care card.
Luxury finishes
Soft-touch coating, matte and gloss lamination, embossing, debossing, spot UV, and gold, silver or holographic foil stamping. Full CMYK printing with Pantone matching keeps brand colours consistent across every run.
Sustainability
FSC certified board, recycled content, PCR material, soy based inks and plastic-free paperboard inserts are available, along with minimal designs that use less ink and material.
We want to be precise here. Plain paperboard and kraft boxes are recyclable in most US programs. Faux leather, foam inserts and film lamination usually are not, and “biodegradable” has a specific meaning under the FTC Green Guides that coated boxes will not support. We will tell you which claims your exact specification supports.
Why choose Multiple Packages?
Every order gets free design support, a free custom dieline and a digital proof before anything prints, and physical samples are available so you can check the frame fit yourself. If you find a lower price on the same specification, we match it.
Low-MOQ ordering starts sunglass packaging from 100 units, so you can print a separate box for each collection or frame style without holding excess stock. Production takes about 7 to 10 business days after proof approval, and about 10 to 14 for rigid and wrapped boxes, with free shipping across the USA.

FAQs
What is the minimum order for custom sunglass packaging? Low MOQ ordering starts from 100 units, which suits new eyewear brands and limited collections.
What size box do sunglasses need? Most folded frames fit a box around 6.5 by 2.75 by 2 inches. Oversized and sport frames, or boxes that also hold a hard case, need more room.
How do you stop lenses getting scratched? The insert holds the frame by the bridge and temples so nothing touches the lens, and a microfibre pouch adds a second layer.
What should be printed on a sunglass box? UV protection, polarisation, lens or filter category, frame material and care instructions. Brands confirm the accuracy of performance claims.
