Description
Why choose our custom light bulb boxes?
Bulb packaging fails in one predictable way: the glass contacts something and cracks, or the base is knocked out of true. The carton wall rarely causes that. Movement inside it does.
So we build around the insert. Folded paperboard cradles hold a bulb by the neck and shoulder without touching the envelope. Die-cut corrugated partitions separate bulbs in multi-packs so glass never meets glass. Molded pulp trays suit heavier reflector and LED bulbs with cast heat sinks, and stay plastic free.
Board runs SBS at 18pt to 24pt for retail cartons, E flute corrugated at 1.5mm and B flute at 3mm for shippers and multi-packs. Where a retailer wants transit evidence we can build and test to ISTA 3A.
Everything else is yours to specify: size, shape, colour, logo placement, finish and window cutouts.
Features of our custom light bulb box packaging
Structures include individual tuck end cartons, sleeve and tray, multi-packs in 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 counts, clamshell and blister formats, hanging cartons with a euro slot for peg display, and rigid boxes for premium and decorative ranges.
Printing is full CMYK with Pantone matching, plus white ink on kraft. Finishes cover matte, gloss and soft touch lamination, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV. Window panels in PET, RPET or paper based film show the bulb shape and filament, which matters in the vintage and decorative segment where the look of the bulb is the product.
One panel is not optional. Light bulb packaging sold in the US has to carry the FTC Lighting Facts label under 16 CFR Part 305, showing brightness in lumens, estimated yearly energy cost, life, light appearance in Kelvin and watts used, with lumens and estimated yearly cost also on the front of the pack. CFLs carry a mercury disclosure. We lay out the panel space and place the label correctly from the content you supply. Confirming the accuracy of that content and any Energy Star claims is the brand’s responsibility.
Why custom packaging matters for light bulbs
A bulb aisle is a wall of near-identical boxes, and shoppers scan for shape, base type and brightness. A pack that puts A19, E26 and the lumen figure where they read at arm’s length converts better than one leading with brand styling. Design sits around that.
Presentation still sets price expectation. A rigid box with soft touch and a foil logo reads as a different product from a printed sleeve, holding the same bulb.
Versatile solutions for all bulb types
Standard incandescent and halogen in A15, A19 and A21 shapes.
LED and energy saving bulbs, including the heavier cast heat sink designs that need a stronger cradle than the glass alone would suggest.
Reflector and flood lamps in BR30, BR40, PAR20, PAR30 and PAR38, which need deeper cartons and wider cells.
Specialty and decorative bulbs, including ST19 and ST64 Edison styles, G25 globes and B11 candelabra, usually with a window so the filament shows.
Tube lamps in T5 and T8, which need long sleeve cartons with end caps.
Gift sets and premium collections in rigid boxes with fitted trays.
Base types are part of the spec too, so tell us whether you are packing E26, E27, E12, GU10, GU24 or mogul E39 and we size the cradle to hold the base without stressing the seal.
Start customizing your light bulb boxes today
Send your bulb shape code, base type, pack count and quantity. We return a free custom dieline with a 3D preview, and nothing prints until you approve a digital proof.
Low-MOQ ordering starts light bulb boxes from 100 units, so a small or specialty lighting brand can get proper retail packaging without warehousing stock, and the same dieline scales to national volumes with no redesign. Production runs about 7 to 10 business days after proof approval, with a rush option from 4 to 5 business days on print ready artwork, and shipping across the USA is free.
FSC certified board, recycled kraft, PCR content and soy based inks are available throughout. Plain paperboard and corrugated cartons are recyclable in most US programs, while laminated, foiled and film windowed packs usually are not, and we will confirm which claim your specification supports.
